Our Mission

Our mission is to create meaningful impact with our communities through martial arts.  We're committed to building confidence, discipline, and respect in a supportive, inclusive environment.  Through trained instructors and a strong sense of community, we help each student reach their fullest potential-both on the mat and in life.

Our core values

How We Work at Master Jim's Taekwondo Academy

Our values are important not only at the studio, but also off the mat.  We learn about and aspire to be our best selves with the 5 tenants of tae kwon do: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit. We help each other, respect each other, and always stand by the weak.

Respect and Courtesy

Consider others before yourself.

Integrity

Show truth in your actions and words.

Self-Control

Think before you act or speak.

Perseverance

Always keep trying; never give up.

Indomitable Spirit

Face your fears confidently.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Master Jim's taekwondo academy business and programs.

If we go on vacation or need to put our membership on hold, is that possible?

Yes, we understand that life happens! Please let us know if your student is unable to attend class for awhile and we can place the membership on a temporary hold.

What should my child wear while in class?

When students enroll in our program, a uniform should be worn to each class with the appropriate belt color. During the summer months we have our studio shirts available for purchase as well.

How often do students test for the next belt level and is there a fee to test?

Students who have shown success with the skills at their belt level generally test every 3-4 months. There is a test fee that varies with which belt they are testing for. During testing, the full uniform is to be worn.

What is the ratio of students to instructors?

Classes range in size from 8-25 students. There are generally 2 main instructors for each class, and often junior instructors who help out with classes as well.

How do you accommodate children with special needs?

Our staff has worked with a variety of special needs such as ADHD, Autism, as well as with students who have physical delays.

What age groups do you accept for your programs?

We have our Little Dragons classes for ages 4-6. Our Tae Kwon Do classes for ages 6-12, and teens and adults.

Can you tell me about your free trial program?

We offer a one week free trial. The student may come 2 times that week.
